Where I grew up, we were not really religious in the traditional sense of the time and only went to church on Christmas. I confess that I joined the conformation studies around the age of 15 because it would bring some money. I spend almost all of it on getting some dreadlocks. I remember asking a former boyfriend if he would believe in God and he shrugged it off, laughing. Belief was something from the past, out-dated, plain humbug.
Can you prove it? No.
But then how to unlock the power of one's belief system?
What is belief?
I hear there are many forms of belief, beliefs about the self, others, relationships, and the world.
Belief as a state of mind in which you think something to be the case, with or without there being empirical evidence to prove with factual certainty. Ultimately belief is an assumed truth, lies in the eye of the beholder and aims at truth. We all believe in different things, and isn’t it mind provoking that the truth comes out when many people share the same belief?
Are you convinced that what you believe is true?
Sometimes I am convinced if I trust my own judgment concerning the proposition in question. Other times, I believe because the scientific method makes logical sense to me. There may even be times where all which is available is faith, endlessly searching for meaning or purpose.
The positive of belief?
Belief empowers and assists in shooting after your dreams. There are several mantras which I repeatedly tell myself, for example, I believe in eternal love or this too shall pass. If it’s a good day I may even go for a statement such as love is everywhere or this is an opportunity for something better. Our belief organises and shapes our goals and strivings.

In other words, what you get in life is controlled almost entirely by what you believe is possible for you. All evidence of truth comes only from the senses, as Nietzsche once said. We cannot give up on imagination, it seems utterly important, especially in the light of creating and manifesting.
The negative of belief?
At its core, belief provides meaning and is formed through cognitive processes that you cannot control. To develop our personality, recognise you’re the constraint of your belief system and be more flexible about it.
All is belief and all beliefs can change and should change when new experiences and insights are allowed to trigger an internal transformation. Aren’t we all conditioned by our childhood to a certain extend?
How can I change my beliefs?
Changing belief is hard work and demands awareness, determination, and deliberate focus.
Watch your thoughts, pay close attention to what comes out of your mouth.
Choose to weaken the impact of a negative belief by relaxing their hold.
Develop a healthy sceptical acceptance of the information you receive.
9 Steps to Change Beliefs & Manifest
1. Take an honest look at yourself, identify your core subconscious beliefs.
2. Identify the perceived purpose or positive intention of the belief in your pattern.
3. Feel and release any emotion that you become aware of related to these beliefs.
4. Establish the firm belief that it is your birthright to have a different belief.
5. Become aware of your ability to attract it.
6. Align thoughts and emotions with the manifestation through meditation or visualisation.
7. Thank your Higher Power as if you've already changed your belief.
8. Detach yourself from the "when and how" you have accomplished the change.
It’s been said that if you took all the money in the world and divided it up equally among all the people, it would eventually end up right back where it is today! Why? A poverty mindset will attract poverty and a wealthy mindset will attract wealth. So, which do you choose?
